Busy busy bee

Wow, I've been busy. Here's a hat and a bag - both finished up last night and both (of course) gifts. I hope to make some for myself soon!!

Silver tree ring

Here's my second project from the Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing class I'm taking at University of the Arts- a silver ring. I've finished sawing the shape out and have a bit more filing and polishing to do, and then it will be wrapped around. The oval part goes on top of the finger and the tree bits wrap around over top of that. I'll post another picture when it's finished! Hopefully it'll turn out as planned- I must have made fifteen different paper mockups to figure out the design! Plus the sawing part took forever- I'm still not very good at sawing, and I cut my fingers twice trying to saw out all those little branches. I now have the utmost respect for jewelers who make tiny things that are hand-sawed!

Keeping the sewing machine warm

My sister's birthday is next month and she travels a lot, so I thought this would be the perfect gift. I love the fabric! They were so quick and easy that I made 4 more for family members' birthdays and Xmas. It's never too early to start Christmas presents... :)

Hey, I've been really busy working with the WrapADoodle Swaddle Baby Blankets

I invented. What an undertaking! that I've attempted to document on the WrapADoodle blog.

A utility patent was approved for it......the WrapADoodle website has been updated and made mo better overall, and am working hard to get a good presence on etsy. It seems that to be successful on Etsy it's important to post every day, and that is what I have been doing.

Glass Beads

So this is more of a question for everybody on something I want to make. Can anyone make glass beads from found glass. I love to walk along the Wissahickon Creek. I often collect glass by the creek and would like to have some beach glass looking beads made to make a few bracelets. I found a few people on Etsy who can do it but, none in Philadelphia.

My New Sewing Studio!

I have finally gotten around to taking pictures of my new studio/office space.  I am so happy to now have a cutting table that I can stand up and cut my fabrics out.  So much more comfortable and efficient than cutting on the floor! I put in a new shelving unit to better organize my fabrics and be able to browse them better.  I'm so excited to have this new space and new start for the spring!  ~Christina

This definitely needs a better photo to do it justice - but this has been a crazy week/month so far. Here's a little girl dress I made for a friend's baby shower later this month. The straps come over and attach with buttons so it can work for summer with nothing underneath or winter with a long-sleeve onesie under. It came out even cuter than I hoped, mainly because of the adorable fabric! And this thing was SOOOOO easy to make. I love starting and finishing a project in a few short hours.
And seriously, how adorable is little girl clothing??
