Silver tree ring

Here's my second project from the Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing class I'm taking at University of the Arts- a silver ring. I've finished sawing the shape out and have a bit more filing and polishing to do, and then it will be wrapped around. The oval part goes on top of the finger and the tree bits wrap around over top of that. I'll post another picture when it's finished! Hopefully it'll turn out as planned- I must have made fifteen different paper mockups to figure out the design! Plus the sawing part took forever- I'm still not very good at sawing, and I cut my fingers twice trying to saw out all those little branches. I now have the utmost respect for jewelers who make tiny things that are hand-sawed!

  1. Can't wait to see if if turns out!

  2. That looks AWESOME! I can't imagine how long that took, so intricate. Don't quite understand how it's going to look as a finished ring - hope you post the finished project!

  3. o cool, can't wait to see what it looks like when done!!
