Something for fun, for a change
I've been so focused on finishing jewelry and collages for sale lately for a rash of summer shows, but I just have one more show lined up. So I'm working on something just for fun and not for sale. It's a nice change of pace- I think it's important not to get too wrapped up in making things I think people will want to buy! This is a little collage book (a lot of the materials are being cannibalized from my failed attempt at a Daily Sketchbook Project. I got annoyed at how quickly that book filled up and became unwieldy, so this new one is an accordion book which is more expandable.

Collaborative Book Project: Women's Caucus for Art
The Women's Caucus for Art organized a collaborative book project, pairing up local artists with high school students. The books will be on display at the Central Branch of the Library this fall. Here's a page from the book I'm working on with Jasmine.

Anniversary Year #1 = Paper = Pinata!!
So our one year anniversary was last Friday and I had to come up with something fun. Hence, the pinata! We have a Dachshund who we love so of course the pinata had to be weenie dog shaped. The husband was very surprised and I was thrilled that it hung there ok since it was filled to the brim with peppermint patties.
