Pysche Cello Fairy Wings

Finally found time with all this snow to try out a new technique! Here is the first of my new cellophane wings, named Psyche after the mythological love of Eros (which i though was fitting since Valentines day is just around the corner).

Custom Luna Moth Wings

Just finished this delightful pair of wings for a wonderful lady in Canada to wear to Faeriecon this year. Luna moths actually have reddish-purple veins, but this one was customized to be navy blue to match her dress.

Custom Small Fairy Wings

This pair of small fairy wings in my Hilary design were customized for a little girl to wear to her mother's wedding. The white edges are a little unusual for me, since my standard is to paint the edges a darker color for contrast. This time, I painted the inside and left the edges the white of the fabric.

Instant Faerie Kit

I made this gorgeous little outfit as a charitable donation for a benefit one of my friends held last weekend.
The "Instant Faerie Kit" includes a pair of small fairy wings (this is Anorra #14), a matching tulle tutu, a feather wand, a glitter fairy dust necklace, and a tiny sparkle tiara.
It turned out so darn cute I may have to start making them to sell, or at the very least start making order forms for sets in custom colors and sizes.

Fiber Optic Fairy Wings

So after ages of painstaking engineering and planning, I finally finished my first pair of fiber optic fairy wings. They are run by two AA batteries hidden in a concealed padded pocket in the back.
These wings have the same features as the rest of my wings with hinged fabric panels and slide clips for the ribbons.
For my first attempt, I am pleased with how they turned out.
These babies really glow: these pictures were taken in the dark.

Wedding Wings

I finished up three custom orders this week, and all three pairs of wings were created to a bride's specifications.

The first was for a lady in Canada who needed a super sparkly strapless version of my Erin wings in gold and pink to match her dress.

The second was designed for a flower girl to be a water fairy in her mother's wedding and features a hand made satin and organza white water lily decorating the back.

And the third was for a bride in the United Kingdom, a customized pair of my small Hilary wings in white glitter fabric and olive green to match her gorgeous bridesmaid dresses.

All Aflutter!

I am currently working on a new angle for my customers that will allow full customization of a few of my original design fairy wings. In particular, my wedding-focused Etsy store, FairyTaleWedding, will be showcasing these two small fairy wing designs in the very near future.
The first pair is my "Bethany" style, featuring three wing panels on each side. As you can see, I used a gorgeous swirling white sparkle organza for the base fabric and airbrushed the edges in gold. The center is decorated with tufts of eggshell marabou feathers, tiny speckled hen feathers, a large velvety orange lily and accented with a crystal and copper glitter paint. My customers will be able to choose the base fabric, wing tip, and ribbon strap color as well as specify the type of decoration they wish in the center. I also offer a strapless design for costumes or dresses with corset or low-back tops.
The second pair is my "Ceres" design, a double wing design with butterfly inspiration. For this pair I used a white crystal organza base fabric and painted the edges an opaque mint green. The center is decorated with white marabou feathers, sheer green rose petals, green hydrangea flowers with tiny crystals in the center.
I need to apologize for my picture quality: I am currently suffering from the latest plague to hit town and too weak to move my lights around, so this is the best I can come up with until I kick this bug!
